To the west of the city, on land transferred from Moshav Nir Zvi, the largest development project under the umbrella agreement is being promoted and its the International Quarter.

The neighborhood is being planned by the Lod Economic Company together with the government housing company “Dira LeHaskir.”

The International Quarter neighborhood is being built on an area of approximately 1,600 dunams and includes a diverse mix of housing, comprising approximately 11,350 new housing units, as well as public buildings for the area, alongside buildings that meet the city's needs, urban squares with commercial, employment, and residential areas, open public spaces, and expansion of the existing train station.  The neighborhood is being designed according to the most advanced international planning standards and will provide maximum accessibility, quality of life, and community.

As part of the plan, 7-15 story residential buildings will be constructed, of which 2,200 small apartments will be allocated to meet the needs of a diverse population, including young couples.  The plan also includes 600 Assisted Living units, 154,000 square meters for employment areas, 48,000 square meters for commercial space, open public spaces in the center of the neighborhood, and connecting to the Ganei Aviv neighborhood, a large eucalyptus park, squares, public buildings according to the city's needs, and paths for pedestrians and bicycles.

The geographical location of the International Quarter makes it a central hub in the city's transportation network. The plan for it emphasizes improving transportation in the area in order to create urban continuity between the existing city and the new neighborhood.

The plan significantly improves Road 200, which will serve as a thoroughfare through the city, connecting the new district to the existing city, as well as a link between Road 200 and Road 44 and the main transportation arteries of Road 1 and Road 40.

The proximity to the Ganei Aviv train station, from which Tel Aviv can be reached in 12 minutes, and the availability of public transportation on Road 200 will benefit the local population as a convenient connection to the metropolitan area that does not rely on private car use.

The new neighborhood will add tens of thousands of residents and hundreds of businesses to the city, who will enjoy proximity to the Ganei Aviv train station, from which Tel Aviv can be reached in 12 minutes. As part of the plan, the train station will be upgraded and its surroundings are expected to become an active and vibrant urban center for residential, commercial, and employment opportunities.

The Western Quarter plan emphasizes mixed use, a diverse urban mix, and connectivity to transportation hubs.

The neighborhood’s development is already in advanced stages, with over 4,000 homes already sold to developers. People are expected to move in shortly.  The plan for the western part of the city will create a new, modern neighborhood that will help strengthen and grow the city.
