Subsidized housing for senior citizens
Senior citizens who have difficulty paying rent and do not own property in their name can benefit from the “Megar Company,” which offers discounted housing in existing housing complexes in the city or in hostels. There are three housing complexes and five hostels in the city that offer activities for seniors living together.

Lod Cultural Center
Theater Subscription - The Lod Cultural Center has undergone a major facelift and renovation and has opened a rich and exciting theater season with the best theater performances in Israel at the most affordable prices in the area. Retirees from Lod receive an additional discount on the purchase of a theater subscription that includes 5 theater performances and 2 performances of their choice. Golden Morning - Once a month, senior citizens are invited to a cultural morning at the Lod Cultural Center. Participants enjoy a light breakfast and a variety of cultural content, such as lectures, performances, and various shows. The price of the meetings is subsidized and particularly affordable. Golden Age - The Golden Age program operates in Lod in cooperation between the Culture Department and the Ministry for the Development of the Periphery, the Negev, and the Galilee. The program offers art workshops, baking, trips, theater performances, and more for only NIS 10 per session for senior citizens in the city. Volunteer Center
The Volunteer Unit of the Social Integration Division in the City of Lod operates volunteer programs for the community. The unit works in cooperation with various organizations that want to join in joint social activities. The activities strengthen the bond between community members, encourage mutual assistance, and promote social resilience.
The unit's activities in the field of senior citizens:
- Loneliness Relief Project – Students and pre-military academy students volunteer and visit senior citizens and meet for joint activities in cooperation with the Ezer MiTzion, which provides support and guidance to students.
- Volunteer Club – The club's activities are designed for senior citizens and volunteers. Activities include trips, lectures, workshops, and volunteering. The club meets on Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m. at 30 Chana Senesh Street. Community Knitters - Volunteers knit and donate their creations to soldiers and people with special needs - Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Distribution of food baskets and gifts during the holidays to lonely senior citizens and Holocaust survivors
- Companies adopt senior clubs – the Nesher company adopts and accompanies the Tzipori Club in various activities throughout the year.
- Volunteer projects and strengthening intergenerational ties:
Smartphone workshop – Senior citizens meet with students to learn how to use mobile phones.
Children from after-school clubs participate in volunteer activities at senior citizens' clubs.
